Ruby Dice is an Austin Americana artist, singer-songwriter, bassist, and bandleader whose music blends country, blues, soul, and rock. Raised in Gunnison, Colorado, she brings mountain town grit to a sound shaped by Texas and the artists she has made music with in Austin.

For more than a decade, Dice has built a life onstage as both a frontwoman and a sought after bassist. She has shared stages with Brian Wilson and Dale Watson, and recorded her first release with Gordy Quist and members of Band of Heathens. In 2026, she was named Best Bassist in Austin by the Austin Chronicle Music Awards in 2026.

Her collaborative album Take Me Back and companion documentary Making a Life Out of Art celebrate the people and creative spirit behind Austin’s music community. Made with more than a dozen local artists, the project reflects what makes the scene special: a culture where collaboration and artistic curiosity can come before the machinery of a big music industry.

Whether leading her band or playing behind another artist, Ruby brings musicianship, heart, and a deep belief in the power of making music together.
